Because Louisiana’s diverse geography of rich swamps, bayous, marsh lands and vast rural areas make quick response by ground ambulances challenging, Acadian Ambulance launched Air Med in 1981.
Air Med Services’ first priority is patient care, but we are happy to appear at in-service education and demonstrations as our schedule allows.
Review landing zone guidelines to ensure safety when landing.

Shreveport-based Life Air Rescue has joined Air Med’s network of rotor-wing operations. Life Air Rescue responds to emergency scene calls and interfacility transfers within a 150-mile base radius covering North Louisiana, East Texas, South Arkansas and West Mississippi.
Able to Handle Critical Transports when Seconds Count Most
Air Med’s fleet of nine EC-135 helicopters are equipped with advanced lifesaving equipment and manned by highly trained flight paramedics and RNs.
We maintain an extensive fleet of medically configured EC-135 and EC-145 helicopters stationed strategically throughout our Louisiana.
We would love to hear from you!
