Acadian Air Med is a proud partner of The Blood Center, who solely supplies the blood units that we carry onboard our medical flights.
On January 11, The Blood Center announced in a press conference that they have joined the Blood Emergency Readiness Corps, established by blood centers across the nation to collect units for an emergency reserve. The extra blood components are held in reserve for any critical-need scenario, like a mass shooting, natural disasters, etc.
The Blood Center Public Relations Manager Paul Adams says, “As a member of BERC, we know the need for blood can’t wait. When our neighbors need aid, we need to respond and help make them whole again. BERC provides Louisiana and our partner states a ready-to-go supply of blood to fill the holes appearing in our disaster response fabric.”
